![]() ![]() Users will receive an email with the update links. This update also adds many improvements to existing features, additional user requests, and a number of important bug fixes.Īs with all previous v3 updates, Version 3.4 is free to existing users of Mixbus and/or Mixbus32C. Two new bundled x42 utility plugins, (stereo-route and MIDI-map) are also included in Ver 3.4 along with a user requested feature, track rec-safe mode, which prevents a track from entering record mode. There are a few others, but I can't vouch for sound quality or ease of use.Harrison announces the next release of their Mixbus and Mixbus32C DAW software Ver 3.4 and a new Mixbus XT-TG tom-tom gate plugin, both of which will be available during summer NAMM at the end of June.Ī new feature in v3.4 is a polarity maximizer, which automatically calculates the best polarity settings for each individual channel strip of a multi mic recording such as a drum kit or large orchestra to maximize the overall SPL output without adversely affecting stereo imaging. (Actually a bunch of free, very useful plugs there.) As for other free reverbs, one that leaps to mind is Voxengo's OldSkoolVerb. The "stock" reverb (a-reverb) actually sounds pretty good to me. If memory serves, yes, it comes with all the bells and whistles in demo form. It will also be a good practice for her to download your other suggestion and see the process of bringing in 3rd party plugins. Clearly, my post was not a mistake and I certainly won't delete it. As incredibly awesome as my own advice to her is, there is always the possibility I may pick up something new that's even more awesome, simply by asking, and I did. Probably has helped or will help someone else as well. So far I've gotten two great answers for free or inexpensive reverbs that made it totally worth me asking about it. They all stay parked in favorites, so I never spend time digging through the entire plugin collection, yet another reason why I'm not totally familiar with everything included in my MixBus installations. Why should that keep me from getting additional input from the forum? I'm sure I regularly use fewer than 12 plugins with MixBus which that are all 3rd party paid. Of course, I can and I have given her fantastic recommendations. There’s nothing wrong with my question about the current MixBus 5 demo.Īnd who says I can’t be taken seriously to recommend a plugin? Utter nonsense. That makes it less clear as to what’s actually in the demo. If there was a MixBus 10 demo I could download today and I scanned for plugins, they would all show up even if they were not included with the demo. ![]() So, despite using MixBus for a long time now, I'm not sure exactly what's in the current demo. I don’t recall in what order I got that stuff or what was included with what. I ask because I have had quite a few Harrison plugins and bundles as well as full licenses for MixBus and 32C for a long time. Good grief where did that come from? That does not read well at all. In your place I would delete the whole post as a mistake. How is it that a Mixbus user does not know what the MB contains? Why not download it yourself and see? It is free! If you cannot recommend a plugin, a reverb, free or cheep how can you be taken seriously recommending a full DAW? (07-17-2019, 01:59 PM)Tassy Wrote: Your question is a bit strange. Its free, it has a nice UI and lots of very usable presets to get you going ( ). Lately I have been using the Oril River reverb and it is very good. If you want other free alternatives you can comb through the free vst sites (vstplanet, vst4free, etc). I haven't used them myself, so I can't comment on them. Hi Don, yes Mixbus does come with the Ardour a-reverb and a-delay. Now that I think about it, maybe the Cockos reverb plugin would show up in MixBus? For example, I had to Google how to select a range in a media item. As cool as it is, I think Reaper has more of that to handle than any other DAW. ![]() That's great of course, but I really think it would be helpful for her to see the fundamental tools and concepts in MixBus first, where it's just laid out so clearly and there are less DAW logistics to deal with. I have a friend who is getting into all this and she currently has a Reaper trial.
